Our Core Product

PLA — Our Volume
Powerhouse

PLA (polylactic acid) is our most popular product and the right choice for most cafés. Made from plant starch — typically corn or sugarcane — it's BPA-free, PFAS-free, and a meaningful step up from conventional petroleum plastic. Available from MOQ 500 with full custom printing.

🌱

Plant-Based & BPA-Free

PLA is derived from renewable plant sources, not petroleum. It contains no BPA, PFAS, or phthalates — making it a cleaner choice for customers than conventional plastic cups at every price point.

140°F

Needs Industrial Composting

To fully break down, PLA requires sustained heat above 140°F and controlled humidity — conditions found in industrial composting facilities. Where those facilities exist, PLA breaks down cleanly. Where they don't, it should be directed to recycling, not landfill.

The Smart Choice at Volume

PLA is the right cup for most coffee shops — accessible MOQ, full custom printing from 2,000 units, and a genuine improvement over conventional plastic. It's what the majority of our customers run, and it's what we'd recommend to anyone starting out.

Our commitment: PLA is our bread and butter — it's what most of our customers order and what we're proud to stand behind. We're transparent about how it composes because we think honesty builds better relationships than marketing spin. If industrial composting isn't accessible in your area and you want to go further, PHA is available from MOQ 5,000.

The Premium Tier

What Is PHA?

PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoates) is a bioplastic produced by bacteria that feed on plant-based sugars and oils. Under nutrient stress, these bacteria store energy by producing PHA granules inside their own cells — essentially growing bioplastic from within a living organism.

The result is a material that behaves like plastic during use, but breaks down in home compost, soil, and seawater after. No industrial infrastructure required. No microplastics. No toxic residue.

PHA takes compostability further — it breaks down in home compost, soil, and seawater without needing any industrial infrastructure. For operators who want maximum end-of-life certainty, it's the gold standard.

The human body connection: PHAs — including PHB (polyhydroxybutyrate) — are naturally produced in the human body as energy storage molecules. PHA is biocompatible at a molecular level. Your biology already knows what it is, which is why it's used in FDA-approved medical devices, surgical sutures, and drug delivery applications.
